Dear Bonsall School Community,

There are so many facets that make up our school community here in Bonsall; our students, parents and guardians, District employees, and various organizations that seek to support and improve the positive impact the schools have on our community. One of the more unique facets of our community that many schools don’t get to enjoy as much as we do is our connection to our nation’s military. As mentioned a few months ago, our District was given an award for supporting military connected families. Given the approaching Veterans Day holiday, we also want to take this opportunity to let you know how we make sure all our students understand the importance of recognizing the value of our nation’s service members.

Today, in addition to our school assemblies honoring our veterans, a parent of one of our students, Dane Kaimuloa, generously shared his time with our students when he presented his Memorial Truck, covered with the pictures of almost 4500 military service members who died serving our country. As shown below, it is an unforgettable memorial. It can also be viewed on Facebook.

Although the pace of change has us always scanning the future, a respect for the past and gratitude for the quality of our community helps our students appreciate the sacrifice and service that makes the United States the wonderful nation it is. This Veterans Day please take the opportunity to thank a veteran for their contribution that allows us to enjoy the home of the brave and the land of the free.

As we pursue “Academic excellence and support for all students to be highly competitive in their chosen career path and/or college”, please know we are preparing the next generation of veterans, and their quality and commitment is incredibly important to the future of our community and our nation.
