Dear Bonsall School Community,
On behalf of the Bonsall Unified School District Governing Board, I wish you a very Merry Christmas. May this holiday season, be it Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or just winter break, bring many new and special memories, as well as a sense of peace and gratitude to welcome the New Year with excitement and anticipation of great things happening. Bonsall has so many opportunities ahead! It is truly a gift to be part of the Bonsall School Community because the coming years in particular present a very rare and precious opportunity.
Bonsall has an incredibly unique gift that few school districts ever experience: creating its first high school just when the community begins a growth spurt. The Bonsall School Community is pursuing our purpose of “academic excellence and support for all students to be highly competitive in their chosen career path and/or college”. A high school built on such a purpose will attract a demographic profile that will further add to the quality of this community, ensuring that Bonsall remains a uniquely high-quality community for generations to come.
There is also the gift of such amazing support from the Bonsall School Community through PTAs, the Bonsall Education Foundation, and the Vivian Banks Charter Council spreading holiday cheer throughout the District in the last few weeks. Jingle Rock and other celebrations provided lifetime memories for thousands of children and their families. Charitable giving and sharing with those less fortunate was perhaps one of the greatest lessons of empathy and compassion learned by our students.
For me personally, the greatest gift is to serve this school community. At one of the caroling events, where I play guitar and sing with the students, I was introduced as the man in charge of all the schools in Bonsall. I was quick to point out to the crowd that I am not in charge of all the schools in Bonsall; I am only the head servant. I am so grateful that this includes hearing children sing of the joy, peace, and holiness of this season of celebration.
